Brompton Bike Maintenance

We run a one-day course for Brompton owners covering basic skills for general bike maintenance, as well as those special skills needed for looking after your Brompton, from rear-wheel removal and replacement, to gear issues, brakes and chains, including replacing chains, gear and brake cables, and brake blocks. We’re also happy to cover any other problems you might have on your bike, such as removal and replacement of bottom brackets, and tightening loose headsets.

As with many of our other classes, the session starts at 10am on a Saturday (unless otherwise specified), and takes place in our Greenford workshop. In fact, our workshop is just down the road from the Brompton factory in Greenford.

The final class for 2018 will be November the 24th. This is unless we have another oversubscribed class like the one on November the 10th, in which case we’ll try to add another date, most likely one of the first two Saturdays in December.

The price is a very competitive £50, which explains why places go rather quickly!

Like all our courses, the Brompton one is very hands-on – you will be working on your own bike. If you don’t yet own a Brompton, we will usually have a Brommie you can work on during the class.

Please note – we’re now asking people to pay a deposit of £50, which covers the full cost of the class, is returnable if you cancel no later than five days ahead of the class, and can be rolled over to the next Brompton class if you like. Payment of this deposit secures your booking for the class, as we’re finding a number of people have been booking places and then not showing up, which is unfair on those others we have to turn away once a class is fully booked.

Payment of the deposit can be made by Paypal (to, or via bank transfer to London Bike Hub, sort code 08-92-99, and account number 65441099. Please use your initials followed by BROMP as your payment reference. We can take the deposit as cash or a cheque as well, if you drop it by the workshop at least a few days ahead of the course. Cheques should be made payable to London Bike Hub, and either handed in, or posted through the front door in an envelope marked for the attention of Jon Marks at London Bike Hub.
